Tritans: problem miraculously untangled

Initially, the due date for the project was Feb 29th.

Problem kicked in when I found out the studio (STUDIO 21:05) I wanted to do the entire recording at was not available for the whole month. That was my safe haven! I was practically begging JD for hours to take this job in. But there's nothing much he can do because he's committed to too many things already at the moment and I understand that he can't compromise the work quality for his other clients.


And I just had news from the production house - they've PUSHED FORWARD THE DUE DATE to Feb 27th - morning. Just what I needed when I'm chasing time.

I frantically went round asking for any recommendation for good studios. There were a few options, but I chose to go with Gene's (the drummer) recommendation for 101 Studio @ PJ, because I heard some stuff recorded in there and they sounded acceptable.

101 Studio - When I called them today, I nearly vomited my heart out when they said their rate was RM120 per hour for studio booking!! But I can't compromise the quality... if not there's no point doing it... So I stretched the production house's budget, sent the quotation to them and am hoping they would be okay with it.

Tried to get a Saturday studio booking but it was full. Managed to get a 7:30pm booking on Friday - but the bassist won't be able to make it. The studio guy was very helpful in trying to accommodate the timing. I feel bad for the drummer and vocalist because they'll be coming up from Malacca and it's pretty late - but I can't make it to do it in the day because of work...

Bass prob - had to figure out - macam mana ni??? Then thought of STARS & SKULLS STUDIO is Malacca - where some of the songs in my album the bass was recorded at. Called the owner but the only available booking was on Sunday NIGHT. Oh no... how to do the recording in Malacca on Sunday night and give the recorded tracks to the sound engineer JD in KL for mixing on Monday morning the earliest - The very time which the production house wants the FINAL COMPLETED SONG IN THEIR HANDS.

Then only it hit my slow brains - can ask May Ling (the guitarist) to record the bass too. Ha ha ha. So this would mean that the entire song recording would be completed this Friday (Feb 24th). And then mixed over the weekend by JD, and then into the hands of the production house on Monday. (Ideally la...)

Now, only hoping for the production house to accept the latest quotation I emailed them... Hope they understand. Though, too bad can't charge additional fee for last minute rush stress ha ha ha. Just joking...
